“FSI products are technical in nature meaning in-depth training is required to ensure our products are correctly installed and maintained. With COVID limiting domestic travel and halting international travel, FSI had to develop training videos that could be used on their own, or in conjunction with online training programs for our international and domestic clients. Whilst we had an idea of how we wanted to present the training material we had not previously undertaken this type of project. How do we try and create training videos for a product that is technical and would normally require intensive hands-on training?

Being able to meet with Jana and talk through our aims for the videos meant we were able to discuss the potential roadblocks we may face including limited access to the type of heavy equipment our products are installed on, the locations that we may have to film in being in the open, very noisy and with no way of controlling natural light etc. Jana was able to talk us through how we could work around these constraints whilst ensuring she could capture all the required footage. One of the other challenges was the requirement to film our products within the confines of engine bays and small spaces on heavy equipment, often whilst technicians were already working in the same space.

There was no hesitation from Jana and she made it work every time regardless of how many times we had to reshoot a scene due to noise, one of us forgetting our lines, or the tight timeframes that we had to work to in order to ensure that there was no delay to the equipment being ready to go back to work. Whilst we may have had images in our mind as to how a scene should look, Jana was always able to suggest another option that would result in a much better outcome.
Simply, the finished videos far exceeded our expectations. From our first meetings, through to final editing, Jana’s skills and professionalism made all the difference. Despite having to film in less than ideal conditions, or only meet online due to COVID, Jana was able to produce videos that we have now used with clients interstate and overseas as part of our training.

We have had many comments from our clients and distributors about how well filmed and produced the videos are and being easy to follow. Jana found the right balance of footage to match the detailed script describing what was often very technical processes. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Jana and every deadline was met.
